japan is often referred to as the “Land of the Rising sun” – is an archipelago of more than 6,800 islands in the Pacific Ocean. The main islands are, from North to South: Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu, which make up for 97% of the land of japan. Its home to more than 126 million. japan is known worldwide for its traditional arts, including tea ceremonies, and flower arranging. The country has a legacy of distinctive gardens, sculpture and poetry. but don't forget its also the birthplace of Sushi.
This is the food pyramid for most people in japan. they mostly enjoy carbs and fish with the smallest portion of their diets consisting of fruits. they also drink lots of green tea which may play a large part in why they are so healthy.
Yakisoba Chicken
Ingredients:
- 1/2 tsp seseme oil
- 1 TBS canola oil
- 1 TBS chili paste
- 2 cloves chopped garlic
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 chopped onion
- 1/2 chopped cabbage
- 2 chopped carrots
- 8 oz soba noodles cooked and drained
- in large skillet combine oils and chili paste
- stir fry 30 seconds
- add garlic stir fry for additional 30 seconds
- add cooked chicken and 1/2 of the soy sauce
- remove from heat and set aside
- in empty pan combine all vegetables \
- stir fry cabbage for 2-3 minutes
- stir in remaining soy sauce and the cooked noodles
- add the chicken to the mix and blend everything together
- serve and enjoy
